Through the Bible: Week 2

Hope the first week was great. I know for me it was. Two things before I give you the schedule for this week. #1: Team up with somebody who is doing it and hold them accountable. This is going to help you sooo much! #2: I’m sure Satan is gonna try and get you to forget or to zone out while reading, but here’s what I pray each day time I read that seems to make things easier for me:

“God, let your scripture literally walk off the pages and play like a movie in front of me.”

I work so much easier when I see things, and so I literally pray that I would see the stories I’m reading happen right in front of my face. If you’re a visual learner, maybe this will help. Anyways, here is this weeks readings:

Bible in a year Week 1

As promised, we are starting to read the "bible in a year" plan tomorrow. We decided against buying a specific book to follow along with, that way you could all read the version of your choice. If i sent this to you and you didn't sign up, it's because I think you are capable and am hoping that you will do it anyways.

It's going to be really simple, each Monday, someone (Me or Mike or Katie....probably not anna because she is going away) will message you the passages to read for that week. We've broken it up to read a passage in the morning and a passage at night each day. We've figured that this amounts to about 6 minutes in the morning and 6 at night, which is not much at all! I'd advise that if you're doing this, pick someone else who is doing it and be held accountable for it each day. Call them, facebook chat them, etc...

I'm pumped about this and hoping and praying for you guys and gals to put aside time to dive into the word each day and to really think about what you're reading. I'm looking forward to the fruits that this is gonna bear!

Please bring clothes that are warm and water resistant or water proof. Plan to dress in layers. The best material “wicks” moisture away from the body but a typical cotton t-shirt holds moisture next to your skin. 90%, of your body heat is lost from your head, hands, and feet. If you are skiing you must have water proof gloves or you will be miserable.

Matthew 15

Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand
29Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. 30Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. 31The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.

32Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way."

33His disciples answered, "Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?"

34"How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked.
"Seven," they replied, "and a few small fish."

35He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 38The number of those who ate was four thousand, besides women and children. 39After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.

Day 5 - Anna Speaks

Anna Rocks! Anna is a high school student who loves the Lord and desires to see Him do great things in our world. This is a reply to a recent facebook discussion. I hope you will be encouraged by it!

How GREAT is our God!

Psalm 23:3-4
3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

He restores my soul. YES!!
It says in verse 4, We walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I WILL FEAR NO EVIL... we have to do just that. Fear nothing.

Satan knows what we're doing. Can anyone say spiritual warfare? We have to keep praying about this revival for it to reach so many people. We need to wake up everyday knowing that there is going to be a battle. There are going to be people agaisnt this... Don't let them win. Use the armor of God. (Eph. 6) Stay in the word. It's your sword. This revival has so much potential. Stay strong. Pray a ton. This could be huge. I love yall.

This ends her words - but tonight she added this when talking to me about the post after youth.

Jeremiah 1
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

6 "Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."

7 But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth.

When Anna talked to me she said, God is leading us to make a difference, he is telling us we can do it through Him. She is correct! We can do all things through Christ and in Christ.

Keep praying and ask God to use you toward revival!
